I know a lot of you may be thinking that you don’t have time to do meditations or partake in a trance mindfuck. After all, don’t you have to have an hour to spend on your back with your eyes closed?

Let me give you the real story about trance/meditations/mindfucks. They’re easier than you think!

  1. I don’t think I can be put under, put in a trance. A trance is just an altered state of consciousness, and altered states of consciousness are very natural for us to go into and out of. You are in a trance when you get engrossed in a book or movie and lose track of time. You are in a trance when you drive and realize you don’t remember the last 10 miles because you were deep in thought. You go into a trance right before you fall asleep. Everyone can go into a trance because it’s part of our natural states of mind.
  2. But when I try to meditate, my mind wanders and I don’t do it right. You cannot do meditation or trance “wrong.” It’s impossible to mess up a trance. A meditation mindfuck is simply a story, and if you’re following along with the story, then you are doing it right. If your mind wanders while you’re listening to the story, just gently bring your attention back to the story. Easy peasy.
  3. Seriously. I can’t keep my mind on a meditation audio. It’s impossible. Going into a trance is a skill that improves with practice. Just keep trying and it will feel more natural. Remember you can’t do it wrong. Just have fun with it and take on an attitude of curiosity. It’s very interesting to try something new and learn from it!
  4. I don’t have time to listen to an audio/I don’t enjoy listening to audio trance meditations. If you don’t like to listen, then read. That’s right! I write the text of the audios in blog posts for a reason–so you can read them! Will reading the meditations “work”? Yep, it will!

Listen, if you want to use meditation and trance to change or if you want to just play around and see what happens, just try it!

Don’t approach trance/meditation/mindfuck like it’s a job or something you have to master. This is fun and quite possibly sexy. Have fun with it!
